Matt Hamer :
Jeremey says that users favor the search box over the address bar because they "don't get" DNS or domain names. I disagree. I understand these concepts, but I find myself using the search box more and more. When I want to book a ticket on "Midwest Airlines" I don't want to remember that midwestairlines is their domain, not midwest.com. Google also provides helpful links to deeper pages like "download" or "about" so I don't have to stumble around the site looking for them. It is simply more efficient to use the search box in many cases than to type the URL into the address bar. I agree completely with Jeremy that "normal" users don't recognize, or don't care if search results are sponsored or not.
